Origin is part of the story. It should be clear before you buy.
A laboratory-grown diamond is grown in a controlled environment. It has essentially the same chemical composition, crystal structure and optical properties as a natural diamond. The distinction is its origin.
Read the full description
Look for the words “lab-grown” or “laboratory-grown” alongside “diamond.” A product page should also tell you the metal, available size and the stone information actually supported for that item.
Ask about the exact piece
Check whether the description refers to a center stone, several accent stones or the whole piece. For earrings, confirm whether the price and diamond weight refer to one earring or a pair.
Understand documentation
If a listing mentions a report or certificate, ask what document accompanies the exact item. A generic care card does not establish a grading laboratory, report number or stone grade.
